Ditto

We love to look at Christmas Lights.  There is this house that we have gone to see for the past couple of years.  I truly don't think they could fit another light anywhere in the yard.
Santa was even there to hand out candy to the kids.  I didn't grab a picture of him this night, honestly I was a little in shock.  I hope to go back and catch another picture of him and his sleigh.  It cracks me up at how shy Davis is around people.  Will not speak for anything.  But not with Santa Claus.  As soon as Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas he just started rattling it off.  My goodness Son!  But it is cute to see how the innocent trust this figure.

Some may wonder what do the neighbors think of all these lights....well....

Christmas Program at School

Yesterday was the Christmas Program at school.  It was precious.  Davis just grinned from ear to ear the whole time.  Such a sweet boy.  They began the program with a prayer and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus.  I love how his school places emphasis on the true meaning of Christmas.

(quality isn't the greatest, I was using our camera for the video)
Display outside the front of the school.
A cute side note, Davis gave Joseph and Mary a high five as we left.  :o)

Up

Precious boy.  We are watching Up on ABC family and if you have seen it, you know it pulls at your heartstrings.  Davis asked why the people were getting old.  I told him that everyone grows older as time goes by.  He looked at me with tears in his eyes and said, "Mommy I don't want you and Daddy to grow old, it might make me cry."
My sweet boy, if only I could shield you from the heartache I know that will fall upon you.  I know the pain I feel and have felt at the loss of my daddy and to know he will feel this pain one day crushes my heart.  I intend to create the most amazing memories for him to hold on to.

Pumpkins and Birthday - Playing Catch Up

Where has the time gone? I am so behind in my posts. Let’s start from the beginning of Fall….

We made our annual trip to Mike’s Farm. This year Gigi, Uncle Andy and Nicholas joined us. Like I have said many times in the past, this is one of my absolute favorite places. The food is delicious, the animals are always fun to look at and the hayride is a thrill.

I have wanted to do this each year, and finally got it done this year. I saw on a blog somewhere the idea of displaying each year’s costume.

Here is little man. The Lion Prince 2008, The Precious Pumpkin 2009 (yes, my mom made the costume. Isn’t it adorable!), To Infinitity and Beyond Buzz (2010) and for 2011 …..

Isn’t he the cutest thing? I didn’t have to prompt him, he knew all the right poses to make.
To continue with Captain America…. That was his theme this year for his party. I had intentions for all the little ones to wear their Super Hero costumes, but that didn’t work out. Even mine didn’t want to wear his to the party.

Some of you know, I make these books each year. So far so good, I have to admit it gets harder each year to find the time. But so far this is his collection. Each book starts with the previous years Birthday and carries through to the current years Halloween. I absolutely love them, and will make every effort to continue to do these for him.

We had a great time with all of our family and friends at the party. We were so blessed to have all family members present.

These are Davis’ friends from school. They are all such sweet boys.  Precious friendships.

Thanksgiving at MawMaws.
All the cousins.  PawPaw always called them the Roosters and the little Hen.

Well, that’s recap of the fall. Much more to come with the Holidays on the way!

"Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff." - Catherine M. Wallace

Easter Day

When we got home from MawMaw’s Easter Day, this was sitting at the front door. That Easter Bunny, even though we were not at home he still came. He is such a good Easter Bunny. Davis was super excited.

The pictures are blurry since little man was on the move. But you get the idea.

Easter at the Zoo

While we were visiting MawMaw for Easter, we decided to go to the NC Zoo in Asheboro. Way closer to MawMaw’s house than ours. It was a special weekend at the zoo. The animals were celebrating Easter too. It was soooo cool.
Davis loved the black bears. You could tell it was almost feeding time because the bears hung out near the exhibit door.
So when it was time, the zoo keepers came out with the bears Easter treats and hid them around in their exhibit.
It was really fascinating to watch them meander out and find each one of the eggs.
Next we saw some bob cats in action. I think one was a little grumpy this morning. They never made contact with one another, but you should have heard the noises they were making.

Around this time, Davis was on a kick about things with whiskers. So we set out to see how many animals had whiskers.
The buffalo looked kind of rough, but I believe they were shedding that heavy coat for the summer.
I thought this was cute. It is as if Davis is saying, “Now, come on bee, let’s go somewhere.”
Davis saw his first 3-D movie today as well. Dora and Diego Catches the Robot Butterfly. He loved it!

The Lemurs were probably my favorite. I think this guy was practicing his yoga.

I just loved this little statue. I think Giraffes are some of the most beautiful creatures and this little statue is symbolic of our little family.

The elephants. We were, well I was, determined to see the elephants enjoy their Easter treats. We waited…
And waited…
Finally they came!

And yep, Elephants have whiskers!

Tired family waiting on the bus to take us back to our car. We had a wonderful day at the zoo.
