Yes, Davis, There is a Santa Claus.

Some don't agree with all the hoop-la of Santa at Christmas.  Thinking it takes away from the real reason of the season.  But to see the excitement in a child's eyes is truly God's work.  We as parents and adults must create the environment to show and teach our children God's word.  Many forget how the real Santa Claus came to be.  The Saint Nicholas, who became known for his generosity to those in need and his love of children.  There is a beautiful book out there that truly unites the two spirits of Christmas called, "The Kneeling Santa".  This is one of my favorites and I have many figurines of the Kneeling Santa beside the Manger.  We Believe!

Davis' reaction, "Oh boy!"

Davis proceeded to put all of his gifts, opened or not, into the Jeep.

Here's Zoe getting in on the action from what Santa left for her.

Stay tuned as we take the Jeep outside for the big adventure.  Chris had to disable the battery for the time being, Davis kept plowing into the couches in the living room.  I predict power-drives into the fence...

This was too cute not to post.  Davis got the harmonica for his birthday and has learned how to play it quite well.

Reindeer Food

Everyone wants Santa to visit them on Christmas Eve.  What better way to ensure that wish than to prepare Reindeer Food!  We made some to share with all of Davis' classmates.

I attached the reindeer food and the following poem to their gift from Davis.

"Sprinkle this reindeer food outside tonight.
The moonlight will make it sparkle bright.
As the reindeer fly and roam.
This will guide them to your home."

The Little Things

For many years, I would see these amazing Smiley Face pancakes and could not wait until I had a child of my own to get one for.  Well, last night Davis experienced his first Smiley Face!  His word, "Yummy!"  He really only ate the fruit and a couple of bites of the pancake.  It is rather big for a little guy.  But, none the less, a precious moment in the life of my Motherhood.

Wonderful World of Disney

We recently went to see Disney on Ice at the RBC Center in Raleigh.  We had awesome seats and an amazing time.  Davis loves this stuff.  We saw
Cinderella and Prince Charming...

Minnie and her Fairy GodMother...

Daisy Duck...

and Goofy (Davis' Favorite these days)

This was a highlight to Davis.  'Tractor'

We had to get a MJ hat... "Yes, son you are cool."

This was one of Daddy's Favorite, even though he won't admit it.

Sound the Alarm!!

We celebrated Davis' Birthday yesterday and what a day it was!  His theme this year was firetrucks because he is in love with them these days.  One even magically showed up to wish him a Happy Birthday!  (wink, wink)

Here he is with the Firemen.  Can you see him?

On the front of the truck with Adelina.

They even raised the ladder!!!

Happy Birthday Baby Davis!

Our little boy is officially 2 today!  I can't believe it!

It seems like only yesterday I heard that first little cry and I became a Mother.

And just last year, that "sweet" little face...

We Love YOU Baby Davis!!!

Our Adventures in Trick or Treating

This was the first year we really went out in the neighborhood Trick-or-Treating.  Davis seemed to enjoy it.  He liked looking at everyone's Jack-o-laterns more than anything else.  The candy was just an extra treat.
Trick or Treat!

Here we are at Mrs. Donna's.

Next, Dadaddy and Gigi's.  (You think they are proud, the cameras didn't stop)

Sweet talking DaDaddy into opening the candy.

Getting ready to hit the streets...

He finally decided that it was more fun for Madison to pull him in the wagon.
I thought Prince Charming was supposed to pull Snow White?

Off into the night...

The Great Pumpkin Masterpiece

Halloween morning after we ate breakfast we went right to work on creating the masterpiece.  I thought Davis would enjoy digging in the pumpkin but his response was, "Ewwwww, Yucky!"  But he sat there and watched until it was complete.  (Check out the cute pj's.  Little bats and moons.)
Daddy cutting out the hole.

Momma hard at work digging out the guts.

Fall Festival at School

Fall Festival Time! Davis had a blast. Here he is "bobbing" for apples. He thought it was more fun to pick them up and throw 'em back to make the water splash.

"Watch This Momma"

And yes, he did not want to leave... notice how wet he is from the apple throwing.
