As tradition has it, we made our annual trip to Mike's Farm. This year MawMaw was able to make the trip with us. I know I have said it before and I am sure I will say it again, but I LOVE this place.
We have about got it figured out. We get there, Chris goes and stands in line for the hayride tickets, while I go get in line to put our name on the list for dinner. We meet back at the Hayride line. Whoever gets done first will go ahead and get in line in efforts to "save time".
After the hayride we wander around and check out the animals and activities they have available.
And it works out almost perfect for our name being called for dinner. Keep in mind, the wait time for dinner is from 1.5-2.5 hours. Whew.
But man is it worth it. The food is just outstanding. I look forward to it every year.
(April 21, 2012)
Well, the day finally arrived. The day I have looked forward to since we found out we were having a little boy.
Our first baseball game…
It was one of those moments that will live forever.
Sweetness,
Innocence,
Pure Love for the Game.
He woke up Saturday morning, jumped out of bed and said, “Momma, I gotta go tell Daddy today is my baseball game!” True excitement. He didn’t think 12:30 would ever come.
Game Time. He did amazing! First at bat, the coach forgot he had a leftie on his hands and so Davis got his first hit as a “baseball player” from the right side. The next at bats he was back on his side. He played third base and did great, even though no balls really ever made it to him. But that’s okay, he was ready if one did come.
I can’t explain to you the pride and happiness I felt sitting there amongst all the Mommas that day. At that place and that point in time, I couldn’t wish for anything else. A perfect moment.
I am trying to savor these moments because I know all to well the heartache that comes along with any competitive sport. It becomes a constant roller coaster of emotions. I am trying to hold on to these sweet moments in hopes they will help ease the frustrations of later years.
So, Christmas is long gone and I am yet to post any pictures. We had a wonderful Christmas. It gets sweeter each year. This will be a complete photo dump.
