Busy Santa (December 15, 2012)

This weekend we had the opportunity to see Santa's Helpers (remember the real Santa is at the North Pole busy making the toys) twice! In the same day!  Whew!

First we started the day with Breakfast with Santa at the Seaside Club.  This is our beach club we enjoy so much during the summer.  It was so nice to be able to enjoy during this holiday season.  After our pancake, bacon and eggs breakfast, everyone started singing Christmas carols and who should appear but the the Jolly Guy himself.

I couldn't capture all of Davis' reactions, but he was thrilled. 

One by one, Santa began calling each of the children up to collect there present.  (Um, there was some planning ahead of time and I will leave it at that.)

Now, those of you that know my son, know he is beyond shy.  But, he proudly walked up to Santa.  So sweet.

I truly loved this new tradition.  I hope they continue to have it for years to come. 

Next, Santa visited PPD.  This turned out to be a wonderful event for this kids.  It was a charity drive to collect gifts for Toys For Tots.  They had a great response.  And it allowed me the opportunity to explain to Davis not all children have Christmas' as he does.

They had craft stations throughout for the children to make ornaments, color and even write a list to Santa.  Magically the list was delivered to my mailbox at work.  Smart!!!

The Woodworkers were there with demonstrations and each child received a handmade wooden top.

Mr and Mrs Claus were there, but Davis would not go near them.  I have almost decided that he favors the long curly beards instead of the short ones.  He won't go near the Santa at the mall either and he has the short beard. 

Mr and Mrs Frosty were there.  This was probably Davis' favorite part.  The "snowball" fight.  Too cute.

It won't be long now and the real guy will be making his rounds.....

We have a new addition to the Croom Family.

Andreea is a sweet and caring girl and we are delighted to welcome her to the family.



Birthday at School (November 19, 2012)

Every year I always try and do a little something with his classmates on his birthday.  This year MawMaw was still in town and able to join us.

 

 

 

  

Look at my boy.... back row, hands over his eyes, bawling.  Good grief.  I can't remember exactly what he was so upset about, but it was something to do with the Avenger rings that all the kids had.  I can laugh about it now, but at the time I could not.

Just for Kicks Birthday (November 18, 2012)

As you are aware, Davis is into all things karate, ninja, etc.  So this year it seemed fitting to have his birthday party at the King Tiger Tae Kwon Do studio. 

To start off, the Demo team for the studio did a presentation.  It was great to watch and see all the different levels of artistry. 

Then, drum roll...... Davis' turn.

He broke his own board!!!!  Such a proud little boy. 

And finally all of the kids got to go out on the floor and practice basic moves.  The instructor gave a great lesson in how Tae Kwon Do was for self-defense only and not to just beat up on your friends.  He also demonstrated how to handle bullying situations.  Very impressed with this portion as most of these children will be entering the school system this coming year.

Go, Go, Power Rangers

Davis is in to all things boys.  Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles and Ninjago are his favorite things right now.  So, this year for All Hallow's Eve...

 

He has danced around the house for about month now in this costume.  He thinks it is the coolest thing ever.

That Time of Year

As tradition has it, we made our annual trip to Mike's Farm.  This year MawMaw was able to make the trip with us.  I know I have said it before and I am sure I will say it again, but I LOVE this place. 

We have about got it figured out.  We get there, Chris goes and stands in line for the hayride tickets, while I go get in line to put our name on the list for dinner.  We meet back at the Hayride line.  Whoever gets done first will go ahead and get in line in efforts to "save time". 

After the hayride we wander around and check out the animals and activities they have available.

And it works out almost perfect for our name being called for dinner.  Keep in mind, the wait time for dinner is from 1.5-2.5 hours.  Whew. 

But man is it worth it.  The food is just outstanding.  I look forward to it every year.
